CDE Linux Web Security Suite is a True Content Filtering Appliance  which runs under CDELinux Secure Platform 8.2. It filters the actual content of pages based on many methods including phrase matching, PICS filtering and URL filtering. It does not purely filter based on a banned list of sites like lesser totally commercial filters (that's why is called True Content Filter).

It has been designed to be completely flexible and allows you to tailor the filtering to your exact needs. It can be as draconian or as unobstructive as you want.

Spyware and viruses are stopped before they can enter the network and cause damage. Everything is tracked and arranged in detailed reports which show how effective your policy is so adjustments can be made.

Main Features

• URL Filtering - With over 40 classification categories, you have complete control over what is allowed to be accessed, by whom, and when. Combined with authentication resource like IP-Based Authentication, policies can be built for users and groups. Detailed reports outline how effective the policy has been and if adjustments need to be made.

• Antivirus Scanning - ALL HTTP traffic scanned on the fly. Stopping malicious content before it enters the network, administrators can use T.C.F to prevent viruses from draining productivity, damaging data on servers and workstations, and causing embarrassment to the company from infected machines spreading the virus to business contacts.
• P2P Filtering - Using signature-based recognition, T.C.F can identify IM and P2P programs easily, and gives the administrator the option to individually block these programs.
• Spyware Filtering - Stop spywares programs at the gateway before they can enter the network and be installed. T.C.F  Spyware filtering can keep computers running smooth, free up administrator resources and keep employees happy and working without interruption.
• Reporting - Detailed reports also demonstrate how much bandwidth is being used so that if a single person is responsible for the majority of web use at the company, this can be investigated and addressed. Reports are available at a high level summary viewer you can dive deeper into an individual user’s usage and get a full list of their activity.

T.C.F can be installed on any CDELinux Secure Platform 8.2 as Stand Alone Appliance (recommened) or as standard Proxy Server. In Stand Alone mode the appliance function in Layer 2, hense NO network modifications are needed.
